Since its founding, S.E.M.T. Pielstick has become a leader in the design and production of Diesel engines for mainline locomotives and off-road heavy vehicles. A close cooperation with loco builders provides the right answers to the end users.
We currently offer two series of Diesel engines for these applications: high and medium speed.

Some 2 300 PA rail traction engines are in service worldwide in 30 Railways systems, i.e. France, Germany and other European countries. They are working in extremely wide operation conditions, in Thailand and Malaysia, in South East Asia, in Africa and in altitudes reaching 3 800 m in Ecuador.
The sales of S.E.M.T. Pielstick engines for locomotives and dumpers are led by the Traction Sales Department.
In order to maintain a close contact with our customers and partners, local representations provide a fast and direct support.
